Self-teaching, Integralist Intensive

Posted on Mar 6th, 2007 by Akiko : Spiritual Alchemist Akiko
I've decided to comence an intensive course....on integral theory (all of it....basically try to learn and understand as much as I can)....the curriculum will be all self-established. Books are on the way....
I am very excited, but may need some guidance. Do let me know if you have suggestions on great reading.

PS. Nicolas is standing by himself now, wiggles, smiles, dances a bit, and gets back down on his knees. He is hugging tight now too.....what a joy!!! there is nothing like bear hug sessions with him - my batteries for my entire day.

First Entry

Posted on Feb 15th, 2007 by Akiko : Spiritual Alchemist Akiko
Almost a year after joining Zaadz, here is my first entry!

So, what have I been doing? well....
On the Mommy front: I've been loving motherhood. Nicolas gives me so much joy each day. I love singing to him as he wakes up in the morning - especially love the smile he gives as he greets the day.....is as if nothing else matters....he just knows the present; and so, he just looks out the window and giggles....So, no matter how overwhelm I may feel in the morning, waking him up is his daily gift to me.

On the yogic front: I have been able to finally enjoy an hour each day for myself. So, finally my mat is out since the birth of Nicolas. I am finding myself more open to my intuition. I am following no guidelines...just letting my body dictate what it needs that day. I have been missing headstands since the pregnancy. So, it is such a relief when I get a chance to practice them.

In the craft corner: I am focusing on my new project - giving new life to "rescued" (recycled) yarn.....plus getting more involved with various charities to donate handknit items. I am thinking of acquiring a couple of angora rabbits to use the wool for spinning - I'm very excited! Anyone with angora rabbit experience? I love the idea of caring for an animal that will give me such a wonderful resource....and yet, I am excited that it won't be a big animal as it will make it more manageable.

At home: my greenhouse/biodynamic garden is suffering from a mayor pest.....I've been almost completely successful at managing it - but keep crossing my fingers that it will all improve before planting season begins in a month or so. Can't wait to put more seeds - the last time I did that I was having labor contractions (I know it sounds crazy, but working in my garden really help me to go through the beginning stages....just kept my mind in focus I guess). Another major problem is managing the humidity.....as I have one huge bed rather than separate ones.....so, some plants seem to love the humidity and their location and other ones just hate it.
